(W) James TynionIV, Steve Foxe, Ram V., Marguerite Bennett (A) Ricardo Ortiz Lopez, Trevor Henderson, John Pearson, Tillie Walden, Brian Level

The self-published terror sensation finally arrives in a deluxe hardcover collecting the first year! Co-created by JAMES TYNION IV (DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH, Something is Killing the Children) and STEVE FOXE, RAZORBLADES: THE HORROR MAGAZINE features over 350 pages of horror from some of the most cutting-edge names in the genre. From monsters in the closet to bodies stuffed in washing machines, RAZORBLADES redefines horror comics for the next era. Also includes prose, illustrations, and in-depth interviews with horror icons like SCOTT SNYDER.

Why this caught my eye:

This was a case of skipping the digital format in hopes of print for me, so glad to see them doing a nice hardcover for it.

(W) Edgar Allan Poe (A/CA) Clara Meath

In a visual adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe's famous text, throngs of angels gather to witness a metaphysical performance of good and evil. But the play becomes all too real when humanity releases the ultimate destructive power. Artist Clara Meath brings "The Conqueror Worm" to the comics page in this lush and stunningly gorgeous one-shot!

Why this caught my eye:

I've been following Meath on Instagram and I appreciate seeing a lot of her process work, and this just sounds like a fun project.

(W) Skottie Young (A/CA) Jorge Corona

Writer SKOTTIE YOUNG (I HATE FAIRYLAND, Deadpool, Strange Academy) and artist JORGE CORONA (NO. 1 WITH A BULLET, Super Sons, Feathers) follow up their critically acclaimed series MIDDLEWEST with a haunting new tale. An artist named Ro retreats from the grind of the city to an old house in a small town, hoping to find solace and inspiration-only to realize that the muse she finds within may not be what she expected. Fans of STEPHEN KING and NEIL GAIMAN will enjoy this beautiful, dark, and disturbing story of discovery, love, and terror.

Collects THE ME YOU LOVE IN THE DARK #1-5 DEC210158

Why this caught my eye:

I like Corona's work a lot and having him work on a much darker horror tinged series just sounds great.

(W) Tyler Burton Smith (A) Vanessa Cardinali (CA) Nathan Fox

Stetson is a nightmare hunter. A dream detective. She runs a shoddy back-alley business where she helps clients sleep at night by entering their dreams and killing their nightmares. But Stetson's past comes back to haunt her when she tracks down a literal living nightmare - a serial killer that murders people in their sleep. SLUMBER is an ongoing series from the twisted minds of writer TYLER BURTON SMITH (Kung Fury,Child's Play) and rising-star artist VANESSA CARDINALI.

Why this caught my eye:

The pitch just sounds really great and I really like Cardinali's style.

(W) Scott Snyder (A/CA) Greg Capullo

Since the very dawn of man, legends have been told of the conflict between angel and demon-kind. Lam Lyle, a woman of science, dismissed these stories as just that-fiction. But when the loss of a loved one leads to the discovery of a hulking, benevolent demon named Hellvis, Lam realizes that her life is about to undergo a dire new direction. With a newfound partner and awesome powers now at her disposal, our hero suddenly finds herself thrust into a climactic war of good and evil with no less than the fate of the world hanging in the balance . . .

Why this caught my eye:

Ya had me at 'benevolent demon named Hellvis'.

(W) Jeff Lemire (A/CA) Dustin Nguyen

They are the last children on Earth... who also happen to be vampires. For longer than they can remember, these child vampires have lived a life of eternal wonder amongst the ruins of humanity. But shocking events fracture the group and set them on a path of discovery that will shatter their innocence forever. J

Why this caught my eye:

Lemire and Nguyen are just a solid duo, and fans of Descender will probably want to check this out.

That's it for this batch, we'll hit up some Sci-Fi on the next round!
