Why this caught my eye:

Loves me some Arcudi, plus it's been a while since I've seen Zircher's art and his Solomon Kane pages are looking great. Also gotta love a nice Jusko cover.

MACBETH A TALE OF HORROR TP

(W) Stefano Ascari (A/CA) Simone D'Armini

By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes... Deep within the walls of Castle Dunsinane, a seed of madness begins to bloom. Spurred on by the prophesies of witches, and the whispers of his scheming wife, Lord Macbeth plots the death of his friend, King Duncan. This one cruel act soon spirals out of control, and murder after murder erupt into a wave of chaos and violence that threatens to consume all of Scotland.

Why this caught my eye:

This prob should have gone under Horror, but eh it has some elements of Fantasy. D'Armini's artwork is looking great.

ZAWA #1 (OF 5)

(W) Michael Dialynas (A/CA) Michael Dialynas

Trapped inside her mountain by pollution-spewing factories, the guardian spirit Zawa only has industrial waste to eat, leading her to a bitter existence of paranoia and destruction. But when two siblings from a nearby village help her escape, they'll quickly learn that the way to calming Zawa's heart is through a well nourished stomach! GLAAD Award-winning and Eisner Award-nominated cartoonist Michael Dialynas (Wynd, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) crafts a charmingly macabre eco-fable about nature, greed, the dangers of retribution, and good food shared among friends.

GODFELL TP COMPLETE SERIES

(W) Chris Sebela (A/CA) Ben Hennessy

God is dead. Who's next?

One sunny day in the land of Kerethim, God falls dead from the sky. The impact sends out shockwaves that draw in royal families at war, shadowy creatures of the dark, and armies of the dispossessed, all coming to lay claim to parts of God's body. Into this power struggle wanders Zanzi Vuiline, a soldier and berserker trying to get home from a years-long war. Forced to fight her way through the strange landscapes in and on God's corpse, from the soles of its feet through the top of its head, Zanzi will acquire a mysterious traveling companion named Neth who's on her own pilgrimage.

Written by Eisner Award-nominated author Chris Sebela and illustrations by rising star artist Ben Hennessy.

Why this caught my eye:

The previews caught my eye when the singles were first announced, always down with a hardcore lady berserker.

HOBBIT GN WM MORROW ED

(W) J. R. R. Tolkien, Chuck Dixon (A/CA) Dave Wenzel

First published in 1990, David Wenzel's comic book adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit was an immediate success and has become one of the best-loved graphic novels of the last 25 years. The Hobbit is the story of Bilbo Baggins, a quiet and contented hobbit whose life is turned upside down when he joins the wizard Gandalf and thirteen dwarves on their quest to reclaim their stolen treasure. It is a journey fraught with danger-and in the end it is Bilbo alone who must face the guardian of this treasure, the most-dreaded dragon, Smaug. Illustrated and hand painted in full color throughout, and accompanied by the carefully abridged text of the original novel, this handsome authorized edition will introduce new generations to a magical masterpiece.

Why this caught my eye:

This was a book where I always tried to stock the previous editions but they always seemed to be overlooked by customers, so it's nice to see it getting another go around. Here's some previews.

KALEVALA GN

(W) Sami Makkonen (A/CA) Sami Makkonen

BEFORE THE HOBBIT, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, AND GAME OF THRONES THERE WAS THE EPIC FANTASY THAT INSPIRED IT ALL!

A stunning comic adaptation of the epic The Kalevala, which inspired J.R.R. Tolkien to write The Lord of the Rings. It's the foundational epic of the fantasy genre.

The story tells of the adventures and fates of wizard Väinämöinen, warrior Lemminkäinen, blacksmith Ilmarinen and other larger-than-life characters seeking love, riches, and magic in the faraway lands of the ancient North.

The world of Kalevala is lyrical, harsh, and perfectly unique. Adapted and depicted as never before by the visceral, stand-out art of Sami Makkonen, this graphic novel reflects a fresh look at this epic tale!

Why this caught my eye:

Check out Makkonen's artwork here.

That's it for this batch, we'll check out some non-fiction titles on the next roun
